The COVID inquiry report is out. I read it the way I read everything. Slowly, with a highlighter.
The panel found Australia had among the lowest infection and death rates in the world in the first eighteen months. It also found trust was eroded, and said many of the measures are "unlikely to be accepted by the population again." It said vaccine mandates eroded confidence and linked that to hesitancy now. Lockdowns had "lost credibility". A new Centre for Disease Control gets $251 million.
I made my own call back then, and I own it. I didn't tell anyone what to do with their arm, and I won't now.
My question: who's minding that new centre, love, and will they show their working next time?
