Nany Maree

Up to sixty dollars a month. That's what one menopause medicine costs some women, because it isn't on the PBS.

A women's health doctor, Lucy Caratti, told the ABC Prometrium is the only body-identical progesterone available here, and it's not subsidised. She also said there's "a huge gap in knowledge among doctors" on menopause care. About a third of women going through it have severe symptoms. A Senate inquiry is looking into it now.

I did my change with a fan, a diary and a fair bit of swearing. That was my choice, and it's nobody's template.

My question is who decides what makes the PBS list, and why women's midlife keeps landing at the bottom of the pile. I'll be reading that Senate report, love.
