Recalled in November. Back on a supermarket shelf by June. Read that again.
NSW Health has issued an alert about Royal Fields poppy seeds from Basfoods, the batch with a best-before of 25 June 2024, sold at Coles. It's non-food grade. The same batch was recalled last November and somehow got back into the supply chain.
The symptoms listed aren't a tummy ache. Severe muscle cramps and spasms, seizures, cardiac arrest.
I've been through my own pantry with my readers on. Nothing there. But nobody on that page says how a recalled batch finds its way home again. If you've got some, NSW Health says throw it out or take it back. The Poisons line is 13 11 26.
