Nany Maree

The committee met on 23 March. We got to read what it said on 31 March. Eight days, love. I counted.

The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee recommended that close contacts stop quarantining and do other things instead: regular rapid tests, masks out of the house, work from home where they can, keep away from high-risk places and watch for symptoms. Not until the BA.2 peak had passed, though. They also wrote that it "could lead to higher caseloads".

I'll give them this. They put the downside in writing. That's more than most.

But I've noticed something. The Prime Minister called the rules "redundant" and asked for urgent advice, and advice arrived. Which came first, the science or the request? I'd just like to see the minutes.
