Someone's been splitting multi-test kits and flogging the tests one by one. The head of the ACCC called it "appalling behaviour". For once, he and I agree.
The watchdog is looking into price gouging, with single tests going for several times their usual price on eBay and Kogan. Rod Sims says the reports are "extremely anecdotal" so far and he wants the facts. Meanwhile the states have ordered more than 84 million tests.
Eighty-four million. And still people are hunting for them. Nobody seems sure if it's the supply chain or people stocking up.
The ACCC would rather name and shame than go to court. Fine by me. Just make sure the names come with receipts, love.
